ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Amarie! I am a freelance flutist and teacher located in Hadley, MA. Despite my fancy title, I like to think of myself as a free spirit - Defining myself solely as a 'flutist' doesn't do it for me. Yes, I have two degrees in flute performance and have attended a major Conservatory. But there is a whole person hidden beneath my crafted outer layer! I am a seeker of light and beauty, a yogi, a tea drinker, a pop/indie/rock music lover, a food enthusiast and a Mother Earth advocate.
My personal experiences navigating the professional music world have not always been glamorous. I was forced to face my demons- health ailments and crippling anxiety, head on. Learning coping mechanisms and healing processes for my systematic imbalances has inspired me to share my findings with others so that hopefully they will not have to go through similar setbacks. I hope to share with my students ways to help them thrive in an increasingly success-driven world while teaching them foundational techniques to get the most out of their musical endeavors.
